Get to know us

Bloom Coffee Project was started out of the love of two things: quality coffee and our community. We believe coffee is meant to be enjoyed. It's not just a means to an end to generate profits, it's an art that we want to excel at. But from our perspective, excelling at the art isn't enough.

In the wake of the Minneapolis immigration crisis in January of 2026, my wife and I were inspired by how our church community, city, and immediate neighbors came together to help in practical ways. They paid rent, delivered groceries, and simply showed up for those dealing with crisis.

The most compelling thing for us was how our faith grew. What happened in Minneapolis is exactly how our faith should function. Firstly, we should practice unconditional love for our neighbor. Secondly, we should be coming together with our resources to meet the needs of our most vulnerable community members.

To try and be a small part in keeping this momentum going, we came up with this idea: roast reasonably priced, quality coffee and donate all the excess funds to nonprofits with our mission in mind.

Our mission

Our mission is to source and roast exceptional coffee while dedicating 100% of our profits to supporting community-based nonprofits. Every batch we roast promotes meaningful change to help our most vulnerable neighbors bloom.

How we operate

Bloom Coffee Project is a sole proprietorship cottage food business. We roast out of our home in south Minneapolis with an Aillio Bullet R1V2. We source all our coffee from Cafe Imports in wholesale quantities (usually 60kg bags), allowing us to maximize the amount we are donating while keeping prices reasonable. After all operating costs, roughly 40% of the cost of your bag is donated to our current nonprofit. If you have any questions about our setup, please fill out a contact form!
